Levelland, Texas Dental Crowns
The Natural-Looking, Permanent Solution for Damaged or Missing Teeth
Gr8 Smiles offers plenty of options for tooth restoration, including placement of dental crowns. This aesthetically pleasing solution for damaged or missing teeth may be appropriate for patients who have cavities, heavy bite forces, or after a root canal. Crowns, also called caps, are used to rebuild the teeth, and are covered by materials that look and feel like the natural teeth around it. They are virtually indistinguishable from surrounding natural teeth because they are made of porcelain or porcelain pasted on gold, and they’re also very comfortable and secure.
Getting a Dental Crown Is a Quick & Easy Process
You may be a good candidate for a porcelain crown if you need to cover your original tooth and make sure it doesn’t stand out from the other teeth in your mouth. That’s because the porcelain material will be color-matched to your teeth, so even if you require multiple crowns or even an entire mouth of replaced teeth, you can count on the highly advanced techniques we use to make sure the crowns last for decades before they need to be recemented.
When you’ve decided to proceed with a dental crown as part of your treatment plan, all you’ll need is two appointments to get it. During the first appointment, you’ll be fitted for a temporary crown after we make a mold to send to a dental laboratory from which a master lab technician will make the permanent crown. In the meantime, your temporary crown will help you chew and speak normally until the permanent one arrives in one or two weeks. Once we have the new dental crown, our dentist will evaluate it for appearance and fit so you have full functionality of the new tooth. The permanent crown is then cemented down during a follow-up appointment and you’ll have a tooth that looks, feels, and functions like a natural tooth.
